1.5 Degrees of Peace
A feature documentary in production
-
1.5 Degrees of Peace is a feature documentary following two young activists as they fight to protect their homelands and futures from the intertwined forces of militarization and climate collapse.
Ki’inani, a Native Hawaiian student, steps into the role of intern archivist, logging and digitizing the history of Hawai’i’s Kānaka Maoli-led demilitarization movement. Ki’inani experiences as they begin to explore their place in activism, Ki’inani immerses themselves in the collective struggle for Indigenous sovereignty and environmental justice. As the U.S. Military pushes to renew illegally secured land leases, the community unites to resist the continued occupation of Hawai’i.
In exile after fleeing Sudan with her young son, we follow climate activist (and former Chair of the Youth Climate Change Advisory Group to the UN Secretary General) Nisreen, as she journeys through multiple countries. Through the constant upheaval she navigates the emotional strain of her statelessness, while searching for a way to fight for her homeland from afar. As the war ravages Sudan, Nisreen’s work grows more urgent, remaining steadfast in her commitment to fight for the planet in a way that’s profoundly personal.
Throughout the film, both Ki’inani and Nisreen each grapple with the question: how do we protect not just land, but also the cultural and emotional ties that make it home? Through their parallel journeys, 1.5 Degrees of Peace becomes a meditation on grief, memory and belonging. The film is a tribute to a generation rising to protect and preserve what they love most: their people, their histories, and the places they call home.

The Sunrise Storyteller is Kasha Sequoia Slavner’s directorial debut. As a concerned high school student, disillusioned and outraged by the negativity and powerlessness she felt as a consumer of mainstream media, Kasha was compelled to find an alternative narrative.
On her 16th birthday, on an ambitious mission to travel the world for six months with her mom, camera in hand and no clear roadmap, she found herself intersecting with the lives of people determined to rise above adversity. The film is told through the eyes of a teenager, in search of what it means to be a global citizen. It exposes us to stories of people in the global community, making a difference despite all odds, serving as beacons of hope, empowering others to take action.
Her epic journey through South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Thailand introduced us to trailblazers finding sustainable and creative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues like; access to education, economic empowerment, women’s rights, and peace.
Social Campaigns
Through storytelling and social campaigns, we create spaces for learning and unlearning, spaces that ask us to see the world, and one another, with greater clarity. By linking movements and uplifting tangible actions, we build a shared narrative of possibility. An engaged community can shift culture, and culture can shift the world.
