Educational Outreach & Speaking

Taking storytelling a step further.

We inspire young people to see what they’re capable of.

What’s seen on screen is only the first step.

Through our workshops and educational engagements, we focus on providing students with tools to launch them into action in their community.

Storytelling for Social Impact

In her workshop Storytelling for Social Impact, filmmaker Kasha Sequoia Slavner draws on a decade of documentary filmmaking to explore how stories can catalyze change. Through discussions of equitable storytelling and the ethics of media, participants are invited to consider how narratives can inspire action for social and environmental justice.

A Gen-Z’s Guide To Creating Social Change

Since 2017, Kasha has led peer-to-peer workshops alongside screenings of The Sunrise Storyteller, inviting young people to step into their power to create change: socially, environmentally, and politically. A Gen-Z’s Guide to Creating Social Change meets students and community groups where they are, helping them uncover their strengths, imagine new possibilities, and design actions that leave a real mark on their world. In just 60 or 90 minutes, participants leave energized, confident, and ready to act.

Book Kasha To Speak
