KASHA SEQUOIA SLAVNER

Gen-Z filmmaker. Social entrepreneur. Social justice advocate. Kasha Sequoia Slavner, a first-time multi-award-winning documentary young filmmaker comes to the profession as a seasoned photographer, entrepreneur and social justice advocate for over a decade. After attending her first UN conference, and hearing incredible stories of grassroots organizations efforts to find positive & sustainable solutions to daunting obstacles faced within their communities, she was inspired to create The Global Sunrise Project to put her storytelling talents to use for social good. She believes that hearing positive stories can counteract the effects of the bad-news narrative, which can leave us overwhelmed and disempowered. Kasha has spoken at United Nations Commission on The Status of Women, The Parliament of the World’s Religions, The Canadian Mission to the UN, Revolution U -The Good Life Project, and various other conferences and events. She shares stories that inspire and empower people to take action, speaking on some of the following topics: youth empowerment, using your passions to create social good, the Sustainable Development Goals, social entrepreneurship, travel as a way to foster global citizenship, the importance of a culture of peace, and turning the bad news narrative into a movement for social change.
